Who is One Leek, and why do you make music?
I’m One Leek, aka Andreas Gref, a 25-year-old DJ & Producer from St. Wendel, Germany. I’ve been shaping my own sound since 2017 and constantly developing my style in the electronic music scene.
My sets are energetic, my productions unique – I create music to explore new paths and not just stay within regional boundaries. You’ll find me at festivals like Tropical Mountain and on platforms like Spotify & SoundCloud.
My motto goes: “It’s all about the madness.” That’s what drives me.
How would you describe your music to someone that does not understand yet?
Honestly, that’s kind of hard.
You either love my music or you really don’t – I don’t think there’s much in between. I just make whatever I feel like at the moment. Sometimes it’s in the vibe of artists like Le Shuuk or Timmy Trumpet, other times it goes in a completely different direction. One day it might be a hardstyle track, and a year later it could be a radio single.
In EDM I don’t set any boundaries – I just create whatever feels right to me.
Tell me about your first official DJ gig, even if it was a very small one?
My first DJ gig took place in a small club in St. Wendel – and it was simply overwhelming.
The club usually closes at 4:00 a.m., but that night the party went on until 5:30 a.m. because the place was packed. The atmosphere was on another level from start to finish, and the energy on the dancefloor completely pulled me in. This very first, high-energy gig opened the doors for me and led to opportunities to play in several clubs across Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate (Federal states of Germany)
